This CEU course provides chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis rates, detection methods, public health impacts, and long-term consequences among women, infants, adolescents and young adults, racial and ethnic minorities, and men who have sex with men residing within the United States.

 CEU Course Objectives

  1. Discuss which socio-demographic characteristics have been found to have a significant association to condom use.
  2. Enumerate the complications that occur among women with pelvic inflammatory disease.
  3. Explain the individual-level risk behaviors that significantly contribute to the ongoing disparities in the sexual health of MSM.
  4. Investigate the conditions that make it more difficult for individuals to protect their sexual health.
  5. Examine the barriers to accessing quality STD prevention services that cause a higher prevalence of STDs among adolescents.
