Lewy body dementia (LBD) is a complex, challenging, and surprisingly common type of brain disorder.  This CEU course explains what is known about the different types of LBD and how they are diagnosed.  Most importantly, this course describes how to treat and manage this difficult disease, with practical advice for nurses. 

 CEU Course Objectives

  1. Discuss which brain region is affected by Lewy bodies.
  2. Explain the symptoms that distinguish LBD from other forms of dementia.
  3. Elucidate what is involved in a comprehensive treatment plan.
  4. Identify the greatest risk factor for LBD.
  5. Describe the '1-year-rule' used to diagnose the form of LBD that a person has.
