CEU Course Description 

The need to address trauma is increasingly viewed as an important component of effective behavioral health service delivery.  The purpose of this CEU course is to develop a working concept of trauma and a trauma-informed approach and to develop a shared understanding of these concepts that would be acceptable and appropriate across an array of services.

CEU Course Objectives

  1. Explain the factors involved as to whether or not an event is experienced as traumatic.
  2. Identify what a trauma-informed approach seeks to resist.
  3. Provide examples of adverse effects of trauma.
  4. Describe the key principles for a trauma-informed approach.
